VERIFIED FACT
Sunsets on Mars can look blue.
Why this sounds fake
Sunsets feel warm-colored by default, and Mars is famous for being the red planet, so blue feels wrong.
Mars is the red planet, so a blue sunset sounds like the wrong color script. NASA images and explanations show the opposite of Earth's familiar sunset palette: Martian dust scatters light so that blue light stays nearer the direction of the Sun during sunrise and sunset. The daytime sky can look butterscotch or reddish, while the Sun's glow near the horizon can turn blue. The fact works because it is visually simple and mentally backwards. On the red planet, sunset can be the blue part.
